Trimadelic is a Cut Above the Rest
at Space Liverpool Stanhope Street

"Home is where the heart is at the end of the day and Space Liverpool is the perfect place for me to set up shop. I love the concept of Space and being located in the Baltic is ideal for me with all what is happening creatively in the area."
Introducing Trimadelic, the Baltic Triangle’s newest bespoke appointment only barbers located at Space Liverpool. Headed up by Tom the proprietor and founder with a taste for psychedelic tunes, footy tracksuits and a signature Ginger barnet.
Tom has always had a passion for hair and fashion that goes way back to styling his ginger hair on the playground, matching his football boots with his strip and always having a soundtrack to match, the weekends were always special to him and became part of his DNA.
“Growing up in suburb of Liverpool, I loved getting into the city centre from a young age, it was all all about Wade Smith, blag trackies from St Johns market, Soccer AM, pestering me ma’ for a pair of preds and tunes from HMV”
After leaving school and wanting to follow his passion for barbering he first picked up scissors at a Liverpool intuition Crown and Glory which has been serving the Rice Lane community for dad and lad cuts for over 50 years.
“I had a Saturday job at Crown and Glory sweeping up hair which I used to go to every week after football and loved it. The shop was a proper community with the same faces and generations coming in week on week not only for a haircut but for a chat about family, footy and life. I fell in love with the vibe of barbershop and decided to do an apprenticeship there after school and owe a lot to Richard & Gerard Mcaleavey and Tony Scoggins who are 3 amazing barbers and even better people for taking me under their wing.”
After 9 years of cutting hair in Liverpool, wanting to further develop his craft, Tom moved to Scotland where was based for the last two years at a renowned barbers Ruffians, splitting his time between Edinburgh and also working out of their London Covent Garden HQ. It’s here where Tom felt he progressed in his abilities, grew in confidence, gained a liking to IRN BRU / tunnocks teacakes and became a master of his craft.
“Working at Ruffians was boss for me, working alongside a talented team and moving between their shops in Edinburgh and London was great for me as I feel like I broadened my skills, often cutting all different types of heads.”
“I really enjoyed living in Scotland, the ginger hair stood me good stead to fit in up there and I loved getting to know new people, clients and exploring the pubs, beaches and greenspace”
“Also I was often in the London shop and saw plenty of parallels to Liverpool and the Baltic Triangle down there with what's happening culturally and creatively and this gave me the urge to want to set something up in my own style”
Whilst content with life up in Edinburgh Tom had ambitions to come home and show his city what he's learned and more importantly showcase his personality through his cuts and brand.
“After learning my trade for 12 years I now wanted to set up a barbershop in my own image back in Liverpool. Home is where the heart is at the end of the day and Space Liverpool is the perfect place for me to set up shop. I love the concept of Space and being located in the Baltic is ideal for me with all what is happening creatively in the area.”
Tom has been honing his craft for years and is excited to launch his own brand and shop Trimadelic.
“Trimadelic is my DNA in a brand. It's all my influences, my personality, the city I love, the psychedelic music I'm into, my interest in art and culture and of course more than anything else fresh trims”.
“Being located where we are I want to be a part of the local community and be your one stop shop for a re-style, or even just get ready for a night out or meeting”
“I've worked closely with my friend Adam Kennady on creating a brand perfect for my barber offering and I can't wait to get going.”
